This site has been neglected...

Nothing has been posted on here since March. Building a bike and not getting out is my only excuse. I'll try and keep it updated more and get Justin to as well.

AMA Dragbike 2010

AMA Dragbike is coming back to the
South Georgia Motorsports Park on
March 5-7 last Nov. Geoff Pollard
of Dorchester, Ont had the fastest pass ever by
a non U.S. motorcycle of 5.932@241.84 come out & see the action you won't be disapointed. They are coming to Atlanta Dragway on April 10-11. Visit them at http://www.amadragbike.com/

Tallulah Gorge State Park

Tallula Gorge known as the "Niagara of the South"
is truly a beautiful place. Located off of Hwy. 441 it is
the border of Habersham & Rabun counties. It was one of the most popular tourist attractions in the southeast before it was damned in the late 1800's, it's still a great place to visit on a trip as Hwy. 441 will take you straight up to the Wheels Through Time Museum & some of the pretiest views you'll find. It was also home to the scene in Deliverance where John Voght climbs out of the gorge of the fictional Culawahassee River. It's places like this that makes me glad to be from Georgia.

Old Mill Motorcycle Museum

This museum is in Juliette, GA, a little North of Macon.
The town is known best for being the film location for "Fried Green Tomatoes"
The owner of this place, Les White, could not be a nicer guy.
Check it out if you are in the area. Well worth the $7.

World of Wheels...

If the cold weather makes you want to get out of the house, but you don't want to sift through the scores of doo-rags at the Great American Motorcycle Show this weekend, then you can always try the World of Wheels show next weekend. I'm not promising it'll be a lot better, but there will at least be some cars mixed in.

Thanks Jeff...

If you submit good, regular posts to your local FTW blogspot, then you get cool shit...so why not sign up, pull out those cameras and take pictures of the things you're doing anyway?

Triple Play

If you want to get out of the house on a Tuesday night and live anywhere near Buford, Triple Play has Team Trivia and a good selection of beer. They also have a bike night on Thursday nights if hanging out with doo-rags is your thing.

The waitresses are pretty cute too.

Bone Garden Cantina

My wife and I have gone here several times & have enjoyed each visit. For anyone use to traditional Mexican food this is a great place, & for a north Georgia hillbilly such as I it is the best thing since sliced bread. Didn't get to take a pic of the food but I recommend the pescado negro & the carne adobo with a Margarita De Casa. They also have a huge selection of tequila & beer,. It is owned by Michael & Kristen Benoit of The Vortex fame. If you are downtown stop in and at least have a drink you wont regret it, just look for the mariachi player by the street.

Famous Joe's

Off of Hamilton Mill in Buford. Decent beer selection, decent food, and if I had to I could walk to the house. They've also got a shitload of TVs and trivia from open until close.

You can't go wrong with a place that serves 420 in a 32 oz. mug.

5 Seasons Brewery

Off of Roswell Rd. in Sandy Springs is another great spot if you're looking for good food and beer in the Atlanta area. I've managed to become friends with Dennis the few times I've been there and he was nice enough to not only give me a tour of the brewery, but also to let me try a VERY hard to come by brew called Tactical Nuclear Penguin (32% ABV, brewed by Brew Dog in Scotland). They brew several kinds of beer there and the process itself is all in house. They even regulate the CO2 production in the secondary fermentation cycle so they don't have to gas charge the brew going into there large draught vats (the 15 barrel containers behind the window upstairs). They also offer other beers that are sent through the tertiary fermentation process such as their Flanders and Brune. The food is great too. If you're on that side of town, stop in for a brew and talk to Dennis...he's always there.

Brick Store Pub-Decatur

The Brick Store Pub is by far one of my favorite bars in Atlanta. Located in downtown Decatur, it was opened in 1997 by three friends and serves many different kinds of beer in their proper glasses. There is a main bar that serves a variety of beers from all over the world as well as another bar upstairs with a ton of Belgian beers. My favorite things on the menu are the Shepherd's Daughter's Pie and Houblon Chouffe.
